Health Mini-Retreat with Thầy Pháp Lữ
A 2-day event with a senior monastic who has been coming to Toronto for the past several years to offer health retreats. Focused on physical, emotional and mental health, Thầy Pháp Lữ will guide us on mindful practices and healthy daily life choices through food, exercise and meditation.

About the event
We warmly invite you to join our Health Retreat guided by Thầy Pháp Lữ, a senior Dharma teacher in the Plum Village tradition of Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh and a former Western-trained medical doctor.
Ordained over 25 years ago, Thầy Pháp Lữ has devoted his life to integrating Buddhist mindfulness practices with Eastern and Western medicine. He has helped thousands of practitioners strengthen their body’s natural ability to heal through mindful living, movement, and nutrition.
This retreat will focus on caring for body and mind, and supporting self-healing and prevention of modern chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, and other metabolic and stress-related disorders.
What to Expect:
Light vegan meals with fresh and fermented plant-based foods
Guided sitting and walking meditation
Qi Gong, breathing exercises, and mindful prostrations
Intermittent fasting
Nature immersion & cold water practice
Silent reflection and Dharma sharing
Fermentation workshop: practical tips for natural health
To maximize the benefits, participants are encouraged to:
Eat lightly in the days before the retreat
Reduce or avoid sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and processed food
Begin gentle fasting or lighter meals where possible
👉 Please bring: your own yoga mat, sleeping bag, mosquito repellent, and other personal items for comfort.
⛺ If you wish, you’re welcome to bring a tent and enjoy the beauty of nature overnight.
