About the event

Dear Friends,

 

Join us for a Community Working Day on Sunday, August 24th, where we come together to take care of ourselves, our environment and strengthen our community bonds. This day is dedicated to collaborative efforts that make a meaningful impact, whether it’s caring for public spaces, participating in community maintenance, or engaging in construction projects to build the practice centre together.

 

As members of a mindfulness practice community, we recognize the importance of working together to create a conscious and sustainable environment. On this special day, we will take on a variety of tasks such as planting flowers and trees, cleaning, organizing shared facilities, and clearing bushes to prepare areas for future yurt decks. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, adds to the overall development and well-being of our Tào Khê Mindfulness Practice Center.

 

Our Community Working Day is more than just completing projects—it’s an opportunity to practice mindfulness and cultivate meaningful connections. As we work side by side, we’ll share stories, ideas, and laughter, strengthening the relationships that form the foundation of our Sangha. We will have the chance to meet new people, learn from one another, and inspire each other to take initiative towards caring for in our shared home.

 

This shared experience not only helps strengthen the centre’s physical space, but also nourishes our sense of connection, reminding us of how powerful — and joyful — it is when we can work together.

 

Friends are welcome to stay overnight on Saturday, August 23rd.

 

We look forward to your presence as we get ready to dive into a day filled with purpose, joy, and community spirit. Together, we’ll create lasting memories and changes we hope will carry far beyond this day.

 

Sample Schedule for Sunday August 24th:

6:30 am - Sitting Meditation (for those sleeping over)

8:00 am - Breakfast

9:30 am - Working meditation

11:30 am - Walking meditation

12:15 pm - Lunch

2:00 pm - Working meditation
